Travel Czech Republic vacations

The Czech Republic - PragueThe ancient kingdoms of Moravia, Silesia and Bohemia made up the Czech Republic, and is the western-most satellite country of the former Soviet Union. It is also probably the most ideal place to discover what was previously recognized as the other side of the iron curtain during the Soviet era. It is definitely one of the most advanced.

In 1989, during the bloodless "Velvet Revolution", the Czechs and Slovaks managed to shrug off the Communist rule of 41 years without even a single shot being fired and it is undeniably the most positive of the Eastern Europe's anti-Communist period of turmoil. However, in just four years later, the country was further split into two different states of Czech Republic and Slovakia. And as usual, the Czechs who are usually the most sophisticated, agnostic and open-minded compared to the other Slav nations, they have fared well and in May 2004, joined the European Union. Thought they may be among the best in the list of those countries joining the EU, they do have their fair share of rising crime together with the high cost of livings to cope with.

Prague which is pronounced as praha in Czech, has one of the highest demand in terms of destinations for Czech Republic vacations in Europe as it is practically unaffected by the twentieth century wars. In case, if you have to make a choice to visit only one eastern European city, then Prague should be the preferred choice as it is exceptionally and commonly renowned to be among the most lovely cities in Europe, with great treasure of architectural designs and it is also a dynamic gathering location for young people from all over Europe.

Besides Prague, you should also visit the world-famous spa towns of Karlovy Vary and Mariánské Lázně situated in the western side of Bohemia. These towns have been restored to their former marvelous Victoria-era grandeur and have many historic and enormous castles. Moravia on the eastern province of the country is less visited by travelers but is every bit as scenic and beautiful.
